Maker Faire Preparation

Make:KC - Where Kansas City's Maker Faire's Began...

The Maker Faire in Kansas City is less than eight weeks away. If you haven't looked at the MakerFaire.com web site, Kansas City has been elevated from its mini maker faire status last year to one of the top four in the country this year, alongside Detroit. Remember the BTC Fab Lab is here with equipment and space to work on your projects. It's accessible to the community and at a discount for Make:KC members. This month we have presentations about getting your Power Wheels Racer in tip top shape for another series of exciting racing. The Fab Lab has a new metal fabricator that makes easy work of bending metals for a customized chassis to support your souped up Power Wheels.
Volunteers Needed

Many of our Make:KC members are exhibiting in the Maker Faire. This two day event presents challenges for each exhibitor and your help is needed. If you aren't exhibiting but would like to become involved with this exciting event please use our contact form or email us at MakersMail@MakeKC.org

Steampunk Build Nights

Last year's Steampunk Build Nights were quite popular. We'll learn more about the Steampunk themed projects coming up for May and June.

Show Us Your Project

As usual, bring your project out to show what you've been working on and share with our Show & Tell participants.

Make:KC Membership

Make:KC invites you to come out and get involved with our activities but we depend on help from our community of Makers to keep the group and activities going. We are expanding opportunities with projects and workshops at both the HMS Beagle Science Store and the BTC Fab Lab. Membership with Make:KC has benefits; our members enjoy a 10% discount at the Beagle store on many items. The BTC Fab Lab offers a $10 discount for their monthly memberships with extra savings for quarterly payment.

We offer $25 annual memberships with Make:KC for individuals or $40 annual membership for families. Your membership helps support our research, project planning, outreach activities, and educational efforts.
