Hack.Art.Lab (HAL) of Wichita KS will be demonstrating a CNC foam cutting machine developed by HAL member Tom McGuire. Tom got Make Magazine's attention with his earlier Instructables for a CNC Mill:
Now Tom has furthered some of those ideas to develop a fast, durable CNC machine which uses the same technique as a Tattoo artist to perforate foam insulation.
We will have with us a complete setup to create new designs, so people might try to make their own designs. In addition, we can come with a set of precut designs for participants to make kinetic sculptures using a motor and batteries.
