Youth Technology Fair - February 19, 2011

I hope everyone will make it out to the Youth Technology Fair and VEX Robotics Competition this Saturday Feb 19. This should be a lot of fun.

We are setting up a table to exhibit for Make:KC. If you can come out and help support us that would be great. We will begin setting up at 8:30 am with the event running between 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Come out and join in the fun and meet new people so we can grow Make:KC to represent all of Kansas City.

Orbit - Dark Matter

Make:KC participated along with the HMS Beagle Science Store supporting the Orbit performance at Union Station's Gottlieb Planetarium. We each manned informational booths in the gallery area to interact with patrons before, between, and after the performances in the planetarium.

February 2011 - Show & Tell - Plan B, C, & D

Despite the blizzard we are going ahead with our Show & Tell tonight. Our venue has changed from the Fab Lab at the Business & Technology campus and instead we're all coming over to your house... (In the form of a webcast).

We are planning to have a Skype Conference and push that out to Ustream for broadcast. Failure is an option, we're trying to piece things together this afternoon to be ready by 6:00 pm.

Build Night Jan 25 TV-B-Gone

SURPRISE.

Vince was kind enough to hold the planning meeting at a different time.

Sooo we can have a Build night this Tuesday.  This will be a soldering night.

And the question is "Tom do you need anything?"

I know Steve was going to bring 8 pin sockets and I am bringing a glue gun.  Vince can you bring extra soldering irons incase someone needs to borrow one?

Bring a case for the project if you want.

My First Blog of the Year

I've finally decided I've got to figure out this "Blog" thing... Is it just a journal entry, a rant about a supposed injustice, or just blowing off steam to sooth the soul ?

I'm calling this month "Thing-a-week-month" and  So  far , So good. I've Made Peanut Brittle , Pineapple-Ginger Preserves, NewOrleans Pralines, and Fruitcake-coconut Muffin cookies.

I'm guessing it must be mainly a journal of events that have either just taken place or are in the planning stages of becoming something that a Maker could brag about.
